Madness

2023: Madness, now 6 years old, is developing brilliantly as expected. He starts the season with many wins and placings in show jumping classes L and M. He gets a taste of international competition with Hannes at the CSI in Opglabbeek. This is followed by victory at the Future Championship of 6-year-olds at the Springflut Festival in Hörup, before competing with Hannes at the WBFSH in Lanaken. Madness confidently secured his place in the final with two clear rounds in very demanding qualifying classes, finishing 9th against a field of initially more than 260 horses.

Sire Kannan is one of the most influential stallions in show jumping breeding. Himself successful up to the 3* level under F. Mathy in international sport, he has produced 47 approved sons to date, and the registered average winnings of his offspring at the FN currently stand at over €2.6 million.

Through dam Ravenna by Caretino × Corofino I × Caletto, the line traces back to Holstein family 5118. Half-siblings of the dam – My Love, Cooley Enno and Fly – are successful in show jumping up to 1.40m and eventing CCI2*. Dam sire Emerald van het Ruytershof was successful under Harrie Smolders (NLD) at all the world’s major venues and demonstrates equally outstanding breeding performance with his offspring.

Madness’ offspring have shown themselves to be typey, alert and athletic.

2024: (age 7) Madness is successful in international Youngster Tours, for example in Samorin, Neustadt a.d. Dosse and at the Festhallen Tournament in Frankfurt.

2025: Madness made the final step up to the highest level. In that year alone, he achieved over 28 placings at advanced (S) level. Among these was his greatest success to date: together with Hannes, he won the silver medal at the U25 German Championships in Riesenbeck in 2025. In addition, he delivered many top rounds, for example in Šamorín and Frankfurt.

2026: The year started off very well. Madness immediately secured second place in the championship class at the VR Classics. We are very excited to see how Madness will develop further in sport over the course of this year.
